Magnetic tape for linear measurement systems is available with incremental divisions in any desired pole length according to the measurements to be made, as well as with the respective selected sensor technology (magnetoresistive or Hall effect). The tape can also be created with additional reference marks.

For absolute usages, single-track or multi-track absolute codes are added according to the precision and resolution demands. The procedure is quite simple: The customer sends a file with his absolute code set according to his sensor and analysis electronics. With the Bogen technology, the magnetic graduation is software-controlled and can be flexibly applied to the linear gage, whereas other procedures require special and expensive magnetisation tools for every graduation.
